WHAT ARE RBD ANTIBODIES?
RBD (receptor-binding domain) antibodies are protective antibodies
against the Spike RBD of SARS-CoV-2, which are also the most potent
and abundant neutralising antibodies (NAb) to SARS-CoV-2.

WHAT IS A SEMI-QUANTITATIVE RBD ANTIBODY TEST KIT?
A semi-quantitative RBD antibody test kit detects RBD antibodies
by providing quantitative readings that reflect antibody titres to
aid in monitoring the immune response.

WHY CHOOSE A SEMI-QUANTITATIVE KIT OVER A QUALITATIVE?

Qualitative

Qualitative detection of RBD antibodies.
Assess immune response to identify recent infection.
Less helpful in determining the vaccination efficacy as no titre information is provided.
Not suitable for prognostic evaluation of immunity, and providing guidance to indicate the requirement of a booster shot.
Used at Point-of-Care settings.

SEMI-QUANTITATIVE
Detection of RBD antibodies semi-quantitatively by indicating the antibody titre.

Assess immune response to identify recent infection.
Prognostic evaluation of immunity in infected individuals.
Assess vaccination efficacy, especially in the elderly with comorbidity.[3]
Monitor post-vaccination protective antibody titre.
Indicate when a booster shot is required.
Used at Point-of-Care settings.
High correlation with neutralisation-based assays (quantitative method).
