About Me
Prof. Dr. Menaka Hariharan obtained her medical degree from University of Malaya in 1970 and her post graduate degree, Masters in Pathology (Haematology and Blood Transfusion) also from University of Malaya in 1975. Subsequently she obtained the FRCPA (Fellow of The Royal College of Pathologists Australasia), Australia in 1985. Her research interest in the field of Haematology and Blood Transfusion is mainly in leukaemia, thalassemia and bone marrow transplantation. She was trained in Stem Cell Cryopreservation technology at the world renowned Fred Hutchinson Cancer Centre, Seattle USA.
Prof. Dr. Menaka has published many papers in both international and national peer reviewed journal, and at the same time participated in many forums and conferences related to her field of expertise. She was awarded the “Tun Abdul Razak Research Award” for her research investigation on the role of Factor V Leiden in thrombosis.
Currently, she is the Laboratory Director and Pathologist at Geneflux Biosciences. She has been responsible in introducing many new tests in the field of Molecular Pathology. She was one of the key personal involved in Geneflux Biosciences obtaining the ISO15189. She is also an Adjunct Professor at Johns Alwyn Gifted University which deals mainly with laboratory safety in medical field.
